Code of Conduct
Welcome! We're so happy you've joined us today for Community Quilting! This Code of Conduct helps ensure our space remains safe, respectful, and joyful for everyone. By participating, you agree to these guidelines.
Our Community Values
Respect Everyone — Treat all participants with kindness and consideration, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, or any other characteristic. We wear name badges so that we can respectfully address one another by our preferred names and pronouns.
Embrace Inclusivity — Welcome diverse perspectives and listen with an open mind. Avoid making assumptions about others' identities or experiences.
Communicate Respectfully — We encourage you to speak openly and honestly while being mindful of your language and tone. If a topic feels triggering, take a break, ask to change the subject, or speak with the facilitator.
Honour Boundaries — Always ask before offering physical help, advice, or taking photos. If someone expresses discomfort or asks for space, respect that request immediately.
Respect Privacy — Any personal information shared within our community should remain confidential unless explicit permission has been given.
Fostering Positivity — Community Quilting is a space where people can take a break from the daily grind; therefore, we encourage participants to leave their negativity at the door, helping us create a more positive and uplifting atmosphere.
Unacceptable Behavior
We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, bullying, intimidation, or any behaviour that creates an unwelcoming environment. This includes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or disruptive actions that interfere with others' participation.
Reporting & Enforcement
If you experience or witness harassment or have concerns, please contact the workshop organiser immediately. All reports are confidential, and we're here to help.
Violations may result in a warning, removal from the workshop without refund, or expulsion from future Community Quilting events, depending on severity.
